The Comedy Connection is excited to welcome Demetri Martin to its stage in April this April. Demetri Martin has become one of comedy’s most exciting performers, starting as a staff writer for Late Night with Conan O’Brien before becoming a regular on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He’s also starred in his own TV series Important Things with Demetri Martin on Comedy Central and Demetri Martin: The Overthinker Netflix Original Comedy Special.
Demetri Martin’s signature one-liners and drawings touch on a variety of subjects from dogs to the alphabet’s most aggressive letters that will keep his audience roaring with laughter. His unconventional style introduces elements many haven’t seen in a stand-up comedy show before by accompanying his jokes with music on either guitar, harmonica, piano, keyboard, glockenspiel or a number of other instruments. He cites Steven Wright as an important comedic influence and is often compared to Mitch Hedberg due to his use of dead-pan one liners in his acts.
