The cold winter weather that comes with this time of year can be tough for Bostonians. Comedy Connection hasn’t been able to schedule any comedy shows this winter season we’re hopeful for a more eventful schedule this spring. While we all participate in quarantining during the pandemic, we thought it would be a great idea to share some of our favorite Boston breweries and current content from comedians who have performed on our stage in the past. Many of our most loyal patrons like to enjoy a beer or two while attending a stand-up performance at the Comedy Connection. Here are some of the Comedy Connections favorite local breweries and latest work from some of our favorite comedians to help you keep the buzz during this winter season.

Top On our list is Boston Beer Works. Whether you are coming from a Sox game, a Bruins game, or a Celtics Game, Boston Beer Works is just around the corner. Boston Beer Works has classics like the Brewski or Fenway Pale Ale and rotating seasonal brews so you’ll be able to find something you’ll enjoy. Beer from the Samuel Adams Brewery has also become synonymous with Boston and is a popular choice with our patrons when they come to a show. You can’t go wrong with Boston Lager but a constantly rotating seasonal selection is what makes Sam Adams one of our favorites too.  Last, on the list today is Boston’s own Harpoon brewery. Harpoon IPA is one of the best beers this city has to offer. Harpoon is a step up from the local light beers and offers a more colorful blend of hops in their mix.

Once you have a pint of your favorite brew, it’s time to sit back and enjoy another Boston staple: stand-up comedy. While we can’t enjoy a night in Boston with a comedy show at the Comedy Connection at the moment due to the pandemic, we can rewatch some of our favorite specials. Comedy Connection loves recalling one of our favorite Kevin James routines. James has performed at our Comedy Club in the past and remains one of our favorite performances. Be sure to check out Kevin James’ “Never Don’t Give Up” on Netflix to enjoy one of our favorite comedy routines. For some new material from Kevin James we love, check out the video below!

Another more recent classic Comedy Connection show was  the Nikki Glaser: Bang It Out tour which featured an upcoming force in the comedy world. Nikki Glaser had our audience roaring with laughter while sharing stories and joking about sex, relationships and other taboo topics. We’re excited to see how her act has changed since we saw her in 2019 once we can start attending shows again. Here is a clip from one of her more recent performances we’re sure you’ll enjoy.

Michael Che is another comedian who has left a lasting impression after a performance at the Comedy Connection. He visited us at the Comedy Connection and showed why he’s become one of Comedy’s brightest stars. His ability to apply street culture to the real world and use humor to find humanity make him one of our favorite acts and a performance you need to see at some point if you call yourself a true comedy fan. Here’s a clip from one of his more recent performances that’s sure to make you laugh.

This time of year is all about mindset. While they’re some additional factors this year, we are trying to stay optimistic and hopeful. We’re hoping things will be back to normal as soon as possible so we can grab a bite to eat with friends before going to a show at the Comedy Connection. The Boston nightlife scene may be asleep right now, but we know a new day is on the horizon. We hope you can stay warm, happy, and hopeful this winter season by enjoying new material from some of the Comedy Connection’s favorite acts.
