September 1st brings a lot of change in the Boston area with classes starting at local colleges and the annual Allston Christmas move-in/move-out date. We’re so excited here at the Comedy Connection to be hosting some fantastic stand-up comedy shows this Fall. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the comedians we’re looking forward to.
Jay Pharoah
Actor, stand-up comedian, and impressionist are all titles that describe the talented Jay Pharoah. In addition to joining the cast of Saturday Night Live, he also had roles in Aladdin and has been performing stand-up since the age of 15. Pharoah might be best known for his impersonation of Barack Obama. Join us at the Comedy Connection for a hilarious show when Jay Pharoah takes the stage on 9/17.
Maz Jobrani: Things are Looking Brighter Tour
Among Jobrani’s claims to fame are being part of the “Axis of Evil” comedy group, which appeared on Comedy Central. His childhood dream of acting and performing comedy have since landed him roles in numerous films and shows, including Better Off Ted, The Interpreter, and Friday After Next. He regularly performs at top Comedy Clubs around the country and has made appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Colbert Report. He performs at the Comedy Connection on 10/1.
Whose Live Anyway?
In this 90 minute show, the audience will be treated to witty improvised comedy and songs that are all based on suggestions from the audience. The cast includes the hilarious and talented Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, & Joel Murray. When all is said and done, you’re guaranteed to be wanting much, much more. Whose Live Anyway? will be at the Comedy Connection in Boston on 10/6.
Norm MacDonald
Norm MacDonald began his career doing stand-up comedy and has become one of the most well-known names in the industry with his writing for shows like The Dennis Miller Show, Roseanne, and Saturday Night Live. He skyrocketed to fame as the Weekend Update anchor on SNL, with his popular “Now the Fake News.” He ended up leaving SNL in 1999 and has gone on to star in his own sitcom The Norm Show and podcast Norm MacDonald Live. His jokes and deadpan style are sure to have the audience at the Comedy Connection on the floor laughing on 10/9.
Kyle Kinane
Kinane is a stand-up comedian who first appeared on TV in the Nanny. He is well-known as the voice for their on-air announcements on Comedy Central and appearances on Last Call with Carson Daly, Live at Gotham, Conan, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. His Boogie Monster Podcast has become a fan favorite. Kyle Kinane performs at the Comedy Connection on 10/23.
